Description
Hello everyone,
I am selling a rare first UK press of the Nick Drake's debut album "Five leaves left", on pink/black Island label.
This is one of the first copies pressed with "Day is done" playing after "Way to blue" (sleeve and later editions, I think, play "Day is done" before).
The conditions are far from being perfect but this is still an enjoyable copy. The sleeve is quite tatty but it has been restored professionally. I would say, apart from worn spine and tear in the front above Nick's head, it is generally ok.
The vinyl, visually, has no marks at all. It is extremely shiny and it seems barely played. However, it plays with some consistent background noise which is probably due to the fact that it was stored in a plastic inner sleeve. Plastic sleeves, unfortunately, when wet or kept in humid places, leave residues on the vinyl records. As you can see from the pics, when held under a strong light, the vinyl has some light shades/spots. They are not scratches at all and possibly someone may be able to remove these spots. Unfortunately, I am not and I don't even want to put too many products on the vinyl. The noises decrease in the last tracks of each side.
Another thing I would like to flag is that the vinyl seems to be off-centred. Especially at the beginning of each side the needle goes close to/away from the center hole. In my turntable, I have no skips on Side A and one/two tics on Side B (please ask for the videos!). I can't guarantee what happens in other turntables, but I would suggest to purchase this item only if you have a good turntable.
Apart from these attention points at the beginning of each side, there are no further skips/jumps or other major issues. I don't know what happened to this record, I have been owning for just a few years.
Please feel free to reach out for any question. I try to be as honest as possible. This is a good copy at a good price (G overall). However, not for picky collectors. Cheers

P.s. I previously uploaded this listing through my Italian account. Even if the item is in the UK, the VAT kept appearing to UK bidders. Now it should be fixed (I followed ebay's advice)
