  Description If cost were no object, all albums would have been made like this. 1/2 speed mastered, specially plated & pressed on heavyweight high definition vinyl, special static free, dust free inner sleeve and heavy duty protective packaging.

The resulting record has remarkable clarity (since the cutting head had twice as much time to make an accurate groove), and the heavy vinyl assures that the stylus moves, not the record. (remember your physics - for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.) The imported vinyl is extremely durable, with little of the surface noise and scratches that marred conventional releases. Indeed, these represent the highest standard of the record-makers art!

Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs is the best known producer of these audiophile products, though others carved out niches in this market area. Nautilus & Sweet Thunder also extended reissues of commercially successful and/or critically acclaimed recordings. M&K Real Time and Sheffield produced Direct-to-Disk recordings, Telarc built an extensive, primarily symphonic, catalog with digital source material. American Gramaphone started as a medium for Mannheim Steamroller's Fresh Aire recordings, and filled in a catalog of eclectic jazz, symphonic, and soft rock works.

All of these recordings were extremely limited in quantity and may sometimes command astronomical prices as collectables.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Lens distortion and perspective make it appear that some pictured items are not flat -- rest assured that this is an optical illusion and all product IS in perfect condition unless otherwise noted.
