Official, deluxe 180g double LP reissue of the classic fourth album from 1973, of the legendary British psychedelic progressive group, that was based in Germany.
The second LP contains 2 excellent long psychedelic bonus tracks from 1972, which have remained unreleased on vinyl until this release.

Nektar are the rare prog rock band to come out of Germany (i.e. not Krautrock) precisely because the band is comprised of four Brits that met in Hamburg coming from different failed bands: guitarist Roye Albrighton was formerly a member of the Peeps (a.k.a. Rainbows) while bassist Derek Moore and drummer Ron Howden originally were part of the Prophets. The singles from either band don’t belie what they became as Nektar, which is a tried-and-true prog band in the vein of Pink Floyd, that managed to breach the U.S. charts with Remember the Future (top 20!), their first album to be released in the U.S.
Remember the Future plays like an obvious answer to two British challenges, both seminal for prog rock. The first is the Who’s Tommy, not exactly a prog album, but clearly with very proggish ideals, namely in its fantastical concept and the very notion of a ‘rock opera.’ Whereas the story of Tommy is about a child that turns dead, dumb and blind, the story of Remember the Future is about a blind boy that communicates with an alien named Bluebird
