NOW I’ve gone and done it! I found one of the RAREST LP Records on Ebay and it is one of those albums that YOU have always wanted! I’m bad…I apologize…NOT!!! Now dig this: “Following the 1973 Time Fades Away tour, Neil Young wrote and recorded an Irish wake of a record called Tonight's the Night and went on the road drunkenly playing its songs to uncomprehending listeners and hostile reviewers. Reprise rejected the record, and Young went right back and made On the Beach, which shares some of the ragged style of its two predecessors. But where Time was embattled and Tonight mournful, On the Beach was savage and, ultimately, triumphant. "I'm a vampire, babe," Young sang, and he proceeded to take bites out of various subjects: threatening the lives of the stars who lived in L.A.'s Laurel Canyon ("Revolution Blues"); answering back to Lynyrd Skynyrd, whose "Sweet Home Alabama" had taken him to task for his criticisms of the South in "Southern Man" and "Alabama" ("Walk On"); and rejecting the critics ("Ambulance Blues"). But the barbs were mixed with humor and even affection, as Young seemed to be emerging from the grief and self-abuse that had plagued him for two years. But the album was so spare and under-produced, its lyrics so harrowing, that it was easy to miss Young's conclusion: he was saying goodbye to despair, not being overwhelmed by it.” Here are the songs:

I’ve graded this LP album as NM Near Mint for the cover which is really in MINT condition except for a tiny amount of paint scrapped off of the bottom edge of one corner, and the original shrink wrap is still 100% intact! The vinyl is graded NM also but it really does play like it was Brand New, a BEAUTIFUL listening experience! This is a FUNNY album! Look at the photos… the original sleeve, like it’s really a pile of sand in your hand instead of a sleeve. Look at the cover. I KNEW I’ve seen that car before-I’ve been looking for it for YEARS! That’s what I get for leaving the keys in it! When you get this record in the mail, look inside the cover. It was made to look like you were sitting under that umbrella on the front cover. All you have to do is hold the cover over your head, close your eyes and You will also be On The Beach!!! Good Luck! COWABUNGA, DUDE!!!!

This LP Record Set was cleaned using the

VPI HW-16.5 VACUUM TUBE CLEANER!

The HW-16.5 is the standard in record cleaning machines, neither its build quality nor its cleaning power has ever been surpassed! Its high-torque, 18 RPM turntable motor is capable of standing the pressure of heavy scrubbing during long cleaning sessions, and its 35-second cleaning cycle makes quick work out of even the dirtiest records! The improved 16.5 model has the new self-aligning vacuum suction tube for even more accurate cleaning! I now clean all of my records that are NOT Factory Sealed with the VPI, then test listen to the vinyl, then clean the record again with the VPI. This baby costs me hundreds of dollars, but My Customers Deserve THE BEST!!!

GRADING SCALE

I use a Universal Grading System to describe the quality of the LP albums and 45 singles that I sell. I grade records under strong, diffused room light or discreet sunlight. I do not use stock photos for my ads; all of my scans are of the Item You See! You get no surprises from me!

 All of my LP’s are stored upright in a SMOKE-FREE ENVIRONMENT! 

• SS Mint (M): Album is New, Still Sealed and has never been played.
• Mint (M): The vinyl has no noticeable scratches, fingerprints or defects. May have been played more than once but there are no audible snaps or pops. The cover has no noticeable wear or defects. There may be very slight curling of the right side corners of the cover due to shrink wrap pressure. May still have it’s original shrink wrap.
• Near Mint (NM): Almost Mint vinyl with perhaps a few visual imperfections that do not affect the sound of the record. Cover is nice looking with no ring wear and may still have its original shrink wrap.
• VG++: Only slight signs of wear; very clean, only light surface marks which will not distract significantly from the sound, but perhaps a snap or a pop. Cover also has only slight wear, perhaps some ringwear and is still in nice collectible condition.
• VG+: Played often with moderate surface wear and some moderate noise - still plays well. Cover may have medium overall wear or heavy ring wear. Sleeve might have noticeable wear.
• VG: Overall wear, No serious defects, more noisy sound during quiet passages. Cover is well worn, usually with considerable ring wear. Sleeve may have more than noticeable wear.
• G+: Below average with scuffs and scratches on fewer than half the tracks, Heavy wear on record and cover. Possibly some skips or repeat grooves.
• G: Moderate; even wear throughout, but still playable. Surface noise and scratches, repeat groves, skips.
• G-: Lowest Grade. Audible scratches, etc. on more than half the tracks. Listening uncomfortable.

In my opinion, the grade of “Mint” and the word “Mint” does not equal Perfection. The grade of Perfection does not exist, as far as I know. Different phono cartridges and stereo setups, condition of the needle and if the record is cleaned before playing (or not cleaned) affects the way a vinyl record sounds. You can look at a record with the naked eye and not see micro imperfections which might affect the music and the sound. There are just too many variables. I listen to records after cleaning them. If I do not hear skips or pops or snaps and I do not see noticeable scratches, then as far as I am concerned, that record is Mint.
