Here is a copy of "Gentlemen...Start Your Engines!" - The Story Of NASCAR International Grand National Racing. This is a 33-1/3 RPM LP record (# S8-8864) from the mid-1960 featuring legends of NASCAR.

You can hear drivers, mechanics, officials and others in racing - their thoughts and behind scenes stories.

That looks like Petty’s 1966 Plymouth No. 43 on the LP cover. It sounds like several of these interviews were conducted trackside during time trials. You can hear cars blasting by in the background and the production values are a bit raw in spots. Kinda funny to hear Richard Petty describing how it costs $15,000 to $20,000 to build a Grand National car and how they don’t have a fuel gauge – they just watch the fuel pressure. Communication with the pit crew is by signal or sign – no radio communication. A great listen.

The record is in very good shape as you can see from the photos. A few small pops can be heard, but there is very minor wear and no big scratches.
