Here it is.  One of the most legendary U.S. psych records.  Mystic Siva, self-titled, from Harper Woods,MI.  This an original pressing in very good condition. There is a good story behind this LP.  I am a pretty serious collector of rare psych vinyl, but I had no idea that an original Mystic Siva was in my parents house during my entire life growing up! My grandfather was a jazz musician in Detroit since the 50's.  Every friend of his I ever met was a musician, engineer, record store owner, etc. According to my mom, he would get records from all these guys every week.   He's got about 4000 jazz and classical lps.  He gave all the rock stuff to the kids.  My mom was 11 when this came out, and didn't really have any interest in this band.  I have played this 3  times in the 4 years I've owned it  (once to play grade for this sale). The time has come to pass this on to someone else.  Don't worry about me though, because  there was also a sealed copy, which I am keeping for my collection.  It's a trip that this copy has never been more than 30 miles away from where it was recorded.  I drive by the address of the studio listed in gatefold every day.

I am not a record dealer, just an obsessive collector.  I worry about giving generic grades, especially with a record like this. So, here is a detailed description of every aspect of the LP:

Front Cover: Front cover is in very nice condition.  Color is a very vivid orange,as shown in picture 2.  Picture 1 is one I took with with no glare, but the cover is much more vivid and intense than this pic shows.  Corners are very sharp(see pics), no ringwear, no fading, light wear near spine. There is a small mark in the "M" and the "V", as seen in pic, but are very small.

Inside Gatefold: Absolutlely dead mint.  I can't stress enough how perfect it is.  As bright and vivid as the day it left the pressing plant.  Again, all corners very sharp. Pretty cool that it has the band's address, and the studio address.

Back Cover: This cover not as nice as front, but still very nice.  Ringwear as shown, but colors are bright, corners very sharp.

Edges: All edges are as strong as the day they left pressing plant.  Not even the slightest sign of splitting. The spine is discolored, almost light yellow rather than bright orange.  I have seen this on other originals, so I don't know if that happened to all of them, or is sunlight faded.

Side 1:

The very center of label seems kind of "textured" in some spots, which can be seen in pics, but label is very clean otherwise. Some spindle marks.  There is a light "residue" for lack of a better word in some spots of first few bands of play area.  Does not seem to affect play.  I've consulted with several record stores that say that it could have been like that since it came out of the pressing.  I don't have a VPI machine.  I'm sure it could benefit from thorough cleaning.  2 faint surface hairline marks.  There is a light "surface noise", but it sounds like light tape hiss, not crackling.  Is this just the way it is on a low budget recording/private pressing?  I don't have the expertise to say.  There are about 5 light pops on this side.  Absolutely no skips.  Volume seems to be same as any other lp.

Side 2:

Same "texturing" on label, as seen in pic.  Since this is the same way on  both labels, I feel that this is just the way it is.  Otherwise, label very clean and legible.  Same "residue" on parts of outside bands as side one.  Again, does not seem to affect play.  Same light "tape hiss" noise.  Some light surface noise occurs in track 2 of this side, which is a mellower track.  Some pops near end of this track.  Noise seems to clear up once it hits the track seperation.  This side has a few more light pops than side 1, but they are light pops on my system.  As with side 1, absolutely no skips.

I will ship priority USPS, with insurance, and delivery confirmation on my dime.  My policy for lps is that you have 24 hours from the timestamp of delivery confirmation to notify me of a desire for return.  This is ample time to verify condition of the LP.  If a refund is necessary, my costs for shipping and fees will be deducted.  Refund will be issued once I verify that item has arrived back to me in exact condition in which it left.  I have described the lp honestly and to best of my ability.  PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING! PAYMENT IS DUE WITHIN 3 DAYS OF AUCTION CLOSE.

I will ship internationally, but ALL SALES FINAL FOR ANY BUYERS OUTSIDE OF LOWER 48 U.S. STATES!  Also, shipping method may be different.  The potential for disaster increases as shipping distance does, so bid at your own risk.
