Muddy Waters

Vintage Muddy Waters

12" Vinyl LP

Sunnyland Records

Original UK Pressing

Catalogue Number : KS100

Matrix : HMLT 1001 A / HMLT 1001 B

1st Uk pressing of this LP featuring very rare early recordings from 1949 to 1957. This is the first of three LP's printed by this historical Uk label - In original gatefold sleeve. Limited to 99 copies only complete with its original insert sheets, four in all - two with notes by Mike Leadbitter, one with notes by Keith Tillman, and one photo sheet printed on art paper

Vinyl is in Excellent+/NM condition and looks like it has been played very few times. This record still carries a deep lustre and beautiful sheen. The original labels are excellent. There is no surface wear, dirt, scuffs or warps. There is NO background hiss or noise at all and the audio quality has depth and a richness that you would expect from a 1st pressing. The record plays beautifully.

The gatefold sleeve is graded VG+. No rips and no writing it is in good solid condition with a good straight spine and readable text. It suffers from some generic feint ageng spots due to the nature of the card that it is printed on. The Inserts are all excellent.

A genuine and collectable Uk pressing of this rare BLUES LP from 1969 and in nice condition.

Please check my other current auctions for many more classic original UK and US Jazz and Blues records from a large and well looked after collection. I will be listing more throughout the next few months.

I have tried too show the condition of vinyl & sleeve with the photographs listed but please contact me with any questions that you may have.

Records will be mailed in a strong corrugated cardboard cruciform style mailer.

I use the UK record collector grading guide as detailed below.

Records are visually graded unless stated as play graded

Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

As well as the above grades, Near Mint is often used as well; this is really for a record that appears new but is known to have been played because the label has light spindle marks or because it has come from a previous owner and is assumed to have been played by them. For records which appear to fall between the accepted grades, + and - are also often added to the grading.
