Description
This is Mötley Crüe’s 2nd multi-platinum massive hit 3rd album, Theatre Of Pain. The album was released on June 21st 1985. This album follows in the wake of the death of Hanoi Rocks drummer Nicholas “Razzle” Dingley who was killed in a car crash with Vince Neil. The accident happened many months prior to the release of this album which was also dedicated to and in memory of Razzle. Upon Vince’s return to the band from jail, he was clearly being treated like a monster. They also seemed to somewhat alienate him for the accident, even though he threw shade back at them saying “It could’ve happened to any one of you!” This is also the time period in which bassist Nikki Sixx’s drug problems began spiraling way out of control. At this point, the other band members knew it was happening but said and did nothing to help him because they were all too into themselves. By Christmas of 1986, Nikki’s addiction to heroin hit its 1st peak and he overdosed, nearly killing himself. The band then decided to join the “1st Wave of Glam Metal” which blew up in the summer of 1985 with all the new bands popping up everywhere. With their new look, they settled in nicely for at least a year and a half before switching to a biker aesthetic on the following album, Girls, Girls, Girls. The album was certified quadruple platinum by the RIAA on June 5, 1995.
The album has an obvious corner crunch on the bottom right and a slight bump on the bottom left and bending on the top right(back opening side). The hype sticker has obvious aging discoloration (was already like this when purchased). Overall the album is in excellent condition. Other than that there are no:
-promo saw cutouts
-promo hole punches
-promo corner cuts
-promo drill holes
-writing/names
-sticker residue
-dirt
-water marks
-stains
