Description

Mothers of Invention ( Frank Zappa ) Australian compilation LP released in 1973 on 'Metro' (MGM) records in VG+ condition - has some lines that don't interfere with reproduction,but there is some light noise evident between tracks - still a very good listen.The cover has ring pressure marks,a name written in biro on the top and bottom of the rear ( not too big and ugly) The front cover is laminated,and except for the ring mark,is in very good shape.
When Astor lost the rights to release Verve recordings,the catalogue was taken over by Phonogram,and this compilation was released on their 'Metro' series,which was pretty well the back catalogue of Verve former Astor releases.Tracks are taken from 'Freakout', 'Absolutely Free' , We're only in it for the money'. Frank Zappa also toured Australia in 1973,so the commercial opportunity for the record company was obvious.
This LP is rarely seen,and the there are differences in some track edits on the USA version,and the cover shot is unique to the Australian release.
