Description

You are bidding on a mint condition, virgin vinyl Mosaic Box Set: The Complete George Shearing Live Capitol Recordings. There are seven records in the set plus an informative 12-page booklet. Shearing's live recordings of this era (1958-63) show much more the old jazzy self of his earlier days, as opposed to the more commercial studio recordings. There is much lively interplay and the famous guitar-piano-vibes voicings. All concerts are for his smaller group--vibes, guitar, piano, bass, drums and conga. Gary Burton plays vibes on a number of these sessions, and there is much material that never was released at the time. It is great stuff! Like all Mosaic sets, once they are sold out, they will never be available again. This is especially important here, where this has been sold out for several years, and Capitol is not about to re-release it. It is now or never, and I recommend this to you.
