Description

The vinyl LP “The Album of the Soundtrack of the Trailer of the Film of Monty Python and the Holy Grail” was released in 1975 by Arista Records under the catalog number AL 4050. This first pressing is notable for its unique sleeve design, where the front of the sleeve looks professional, but the rear is made to look as if the front cover has been poorly taped on. Early copies of this first pressing have the rear artwork upside-down, with the top of the front cover art matching the bottom of the rear cover art. This error was corrected in later copies, some of which were issued with a sleeve sticker acknowledging the upside-down back cover. The album includes a mix of dialogue, music, and sound effects from the film, along with additional material recorded specifically for the LP. It has become a collectible item for Monty Python fans and vinyl enthusiasts alike.
