Description

Following Momma 's beloved 2020 LP Two of Me , which introduced the world to the symbiotic writing style and profound creative intuition of founders Etta Friedman and Allegra Weingarten, the band's third studio album, Household Name, unfolds an exciting new chapter filled with both personal and artistic growth. Now calling Brooklyn, New York home after moving from their beloved Los Angeles, the duo has taken a big step up from GarageBand. They took the time to write and record in a real studio, collaborating with the talented multi-instrumentalist and producer Aron Kobayashi Ritch and drummer Zach Capitti-Fenton. The result is an impressive album, beautifully mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Emily Lazar. It's a vibrant and dynamic collection that marks their exciting debut with Polyvinyl Record Co./Lucky Number, who discovered Momma amidst the pandemic, even before the band members finished college. By chasing their idols and weaving in personal storytelling, the band has crafted their unique path. Household Name shines with a heartfelt vulnerability, layered with powerful alt-rock energy, and boldly declares to the world: This is Momma!
