A quote from the CHORDS FIVE website: "First and foremost let us put the record straight. The Smoke were not the Chords Five, The Smoke did however write our first record release in 1967 "I Am Only Dreaming".  They were hanging out in the studio with us when we recorded it, along with our record producer the late great Jimmy Miller. (…) Line-up is as follows:   Lee Morrison (Bass Guitar).  Phil Holmes (Keyboard).  Peter Ross (Guitar/Keyboard). Roger Stoten (Drums). Terry Holmes (Lead Vocals/Guitar).

Another quote: "The story of the Chords Five began in 1964 in Stratford, London E15. The original line-up was Roger Stoten, Terry Bristow, Terry Holmes, Peter Ross, and our Manager was my father Carl Holmes (Carl was a great artist / painter). We were called the "Pioneers".  The first gig we played was at the Poplar Civic in Bow, London,  24th June, 1965. We continued to play in local clubs and built up a huge following in the East end of London.  We were in the local papers almost every week.  It was in December of 1966 we were playing at The Pastures Youth Centre in Leytonstone.  My father had done the impossible and arranged for Jimmy Miller ( Record Producer ) for Island Records to come there and listen to us.  He turned up,  and after hearing us he signed us on the spot.

We were advertised as the youngest group in the world, four of us were 15 and Phil was only 13. We were also the youngest group to have a recording contract at that time.  We were so close to becoming  major recording artists, but  our age blocked us in many ways. We were booked all over the world only to find out we were too young to work abroad.  I still have one of the letters from one of our agency's at the time refusing us a visa to play in Paris, France because we were too young. Our first release "I Am Only Dreaming" was played at least 20 times a day on the local radio stations including Radio Caroline and Radio London ( pirate stations at the time )."

Due to a bad experience with electronic money transfer, I only accept money transfer onto my bank account unless you can give a good reason why this is not possible. The postage for Europe is 2.85 € (£1.95 / $3.85).

If you insist on electronic money transfer, I will ship items exceeding the value of £7.00 only by registered mail (see bottom: Paypal User Agreement). Postage is 4.90€ (£3.35 / $6.60).

Money transfer from bank to bank usually does not take longer than 2 days.

Customers from outside Europe:

I will accept electronic money transfer from outside Europe on condition that items exceeding the value of £7.00 will be sent registered (see bottom: Paypal User Agreement). Then postage is 6.95€ (£4.75 / $9.35).

Note:

If you want extra strong cardboard taking the package into the up-to-500-grams postage class then add 2.50€ (£1.70 / $3.35) for Europe and 4.00€ (£2.75 / $5.40) for outside Europe.
