Precious little information is available on D.D. Phillips, the artist or her self-titled album offered here. Information on the Evolution label was gleaned from the dedicated staff at Both Sides Now Publications (bsnpubs.com). This is the obscure 1969 third release from the label. A positive review for Phillips and the LP was published by Billboard magazine in 1970, but little else can be determined. We cannot find any historical auction record of this LP at any of the popular collector's research sites. What is known, is that “Hey, Little Girl” the 45 single release from this self-titled LP, has become a coveted and highly sought-after 45-single in the Northern Soul Community. The vinyl itself appears perhaps once-played. Only under strong light is a very faint & subtle groove-line-mark apparent that wouldn’t be visible otherwise. Overall, the Vinyl is totally clean and bright with most of its original glossy-shine. Absolutely free from gouges, scuffs or other abusive markings or flaws. The LP has a plain white-hole inner-sleeve. Jacket has a small drill hole on the bottom corner and an original 57¢ label adhered to the top corner. Glare from shrink-wrap affects photography here. Colors are crisp & brilliant. For the Northern Soul LP Collector looking to fill a gap in his collection, this may be your only chance to acquire this incredibly obscure item. Bid with confidence.
