Description

This auction is for the Misfits ~ Horror Business/ Teenagers From Mars/ Children In Heat two sided acetate.

I acquired this acetate off of eBay somewhere between 15-20 years ago. The seller said they had purchased it at a record fair / show, in New York in the late ‘90s. Originally it just had the paper inner sleeve with the typewriter typed info on it. Over the years I’ve added these other two random sleeves to it, just so that it would have a sleeve. A basic boot gatefold regular version. And then more recently, a nice reproduction of the alternate reverse / original style sleeve that was rejected, and that one is a pocket ( sealed on 3 sides ) sleeve.

Let me know if you have any questions and I will try to answer them as best as I can.

That’s pretty much all the info I have on it. I do know that I’ve never seen another exactly like it in all of that time ( almost 20 years )

I played it one time, shortly after acquiring it, to record it onto CD. It sounded fine and there were no issues such as skips or anything of that nature. And only minimal background fuzz. Acetates are much more delicate / fragile than your standard vinyl record, so it’s not something you want to play and handle any more than necessary. That being said, I do 100% believe that it would still play through fine with no issues, as it has always been well cared for, stored & delicately handled.

Payment is due within 48 hours of auction ending, if you can’t pay, don’t bid, don’t waste my time or yours. Message me with any questions or for more pictures or info. Check out my other listings as I will be listing more misfits and related stuff over the next few days.

Misfits Horror Business acetate. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail, fully insured ( hence the high shipping price for a single 7” ), acetates are much more fragile than your standard vinyl record, and I wouldn’t want the rough handling of the Postal Service to damage it.

Due to a recent transaction. Any order that has been paid for, but is requested to be cancelled before it has been shipped but after it’s been paid for. The bidder / buyer will be charged a 5% cancellation fee. As PayPal is now keeping their fees even if the order is refunded.
