Miles Davis - Rubberband
34 years ago Miles Davis recorded a special album. However, it was never published. Til today. “Rubberband” is coming in 2019.
When Davis went to Ameraycan Studios in Los Angeles with producers Randy Hall and Zane Giles in 1985 and the sessions for "Rubberband" began, the American jazz trumpeter decided on a completely different musical direction than before: funk and soul. The musician received support in the studio from keyboardists Adam Holzman, Neil Larsen and Wayne Linsey, saxophonist Glen Burris, drummer Vince Wilburn, Jr. and percussionist Steve Reid.
After the recordings, however, the album was not finished. Instead, Davis recorded his next album "Tutu". So the »Rubberband« songs were largely forgotten.
Until now, because producers Hall and Giles finally finished the album together with Davis' nephew Vince Wilburn, Jr. after more than 30 years.
Eleven pieces are waiting for »Rubberband«, with guest contributions by singer Randy Hall and the singers Ledisi and Lalah Hathaway, the daughters of soul icon Donny Hathaway.

about us
Our founding year 1998 - long after vinyl was declared dead and long before vinyl was celebrated as a cool thing again - proves that we are real vinyl nerds. We only started as a small record dealer from home. Later we opened our first real record shop and of course our own online shop. Everything out of passion and always with the motto: SAVE THE VINYL. What is not available online can be found in our overseas shop, Frühlingsweg 22. Overseas? Yes. Übersee Am Chiemsee. Right on the A8 motorway, between Munich and Salzburg. Here you will also find a fine range of second-hand vinyl. We also have a large selection of equipment from many manufacturers. Everything you need for vinyl ...
