Description

You are bidding for 180 gram audiophile vynil pressing of 4 LPs set:   Miles Davis Quintet*  ?–  Live In Europe 1969 (The Bootleg Series Vol. 2)
This already out-of-print four LP set collects rare live performances by Miles Davis' so-called "third great quintet" (this 1969-1970 quintet, consisting of Davis, Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea, Dave Holland, and Jack DeJohnette, has also been dubbed "the Lost Band," since they never recorded in a studio together) at the Antibes Jazz Festival, and at stops in Stockholm and Berlin during a 1969 tour of Europe.
The European tours of 1969 are some of the only existing recordings of Miles Davis and his 'third great quintet' (Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea, Dave Holland and Jack De Johnette). Bootleg 2: Live In Europe 1969 captures the short-lived quintet in three separate concert settings across 4 LPs, containing selections from two nights at Festival Mondial Du Jazz D'Antibes in France and one night in Stockholm, Sweden. Finally, these recordings have been officially released on vinyl!
The audio sources of Live in Europe 1969 have been remastered from the best available masters, which Legacy has secured from the European broadcast centers who originally documented the material. As with all of Legacy’s Miles Davis historic projects over the past two decades, the remastering has been done by multi-Grammy Award®-winning Sony engineer Mark Wilder. The audio is far superior to any previous circulating [bootleg] versions of this material.
In the tradition of Legacy’s historic releases, Live in Europe 1969 includes a booklet with comprehensive liner notes as well as rare or uncirculated photography and poster.
