Description

Looking for a cracking copy of BELLS on UK Virgin? Well, there's plenty to chose from ...
This copy might well be an excellent starting point. It's an early pressing from Spring 1974 and pressed by EMI plant. It's also been very well cared for which is super important on this title. Well worth a closer look I'd say.<<<
A 2nd label version of BELLS from spring 1974. Matrix 4U/8U. So, please do be aware there are black and white labels from nearer the time of release [summer '73]. This 2nd label version includes the Virgins in colour - but omits the perimeter text that you will find on all later copies. So, from an audio perspective nice and early soon after those pristine masters. The vinyl comes housed in an original cover printed by E J Day.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In great condition and has only seen light careful use. Anyone who has tried to track down nice copies of this title will be only too aware of how you really need to be looking for an exceptionally well preserved copy to stand half a chance of clean audio. This copy has a couple of very lightest marks per side - but nothing that will remotely bother the audio. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of minor deviations. Very nicely clean signalled throughout. Probably one of the cleanest I've had the pleasure to witness. At worst a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated spots per side. And a couple of isolated ticks on side 2 - in a couple of spots. And a solitary light tick early on side 1. A really super rendition which will give you maximum opportunity to take in this electronic masterpiece.
Cover (Ex-) Very well preserved with precious little surface wear back and front. Minimal edge wear - just a tiny patch at middle off top edge. Nice form openings. The text on the spine is 99% legible with hardly any wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A super specimen.
