          *********   What are Litho's or Company Sleeve Negatives ??   *********

Well - You have Stampers for pressing records - and Litho's for the Covers (to be printed ! )

Most collectors have NEVER EVER seen them before,but can only imagine they are made somehow and exist !

Recordcovers have to be printed too , If you press records.

The Music industry abroad gives authority for release,and sends the films ( Negatives to the companies )

The companies ( on their turn) send them to the printers,to have the covers printed.

They supplied S.Africa as the main source - all the time... but they stopped as well with pressing records during the mid 90's
when the CD came up and in demand.

So, they disposed of the Litho's, and send them to Zimbabwe
as they were still pressing tiny quantities for the market there ( under S.African licence)

Few years later ZBW stopped too - the country became politically unstable, and people fleeing the country
and all Lithos ended up stored in the company,to be returned to its original sources or destroyed.
As far as I can remember, it was a chemical process to destroy them,and to send back was a finance issue....
So, thats where I came in ....... made a deal... ( welcome to Africa ! ...haha  )  shipped them out to Holland..
and ALL customs cleared that time.It took me far over 1 week to sort them all out.

Those Lithos are the Original and one of its kind SLEEVE-NEGATIVES and
can not be made, WITHOUT THE POSITIVES !!!

They are bigger then the Front and back cover together,some added with extra Tape format Litho's too,
and come in various colours - up to 12 layer/ colours
Placed on top of eachother,  the way they make the colourful sleeve.

When items are unknown ... its hard to determine a value..based on supply ( only one ! ) and demand ( unknown )
To get an idea of its value , I went to a printer, and was told
the manufacturingprice was( in Dutch Guilder) FL 700 ( equivalent to Euro 320 approx )

Posess these items almost 2 decades, and decided to sell some now , and see how things go.
Maybe ebay is not the right place... and try SOTHEBY"s or whatever...

One thing is for sure - They are rare/ Unique and one of its kind.
You have to frame them behind a NEON LIGHT - and they will look amazing !! )
Own a MUSEUMPIECE - or make a museum at home !!!
The ones I sold previously, were higher then the manufacturing-price quoted.
For a collector who thinks he has it all ...... Welcome !!!!!!
