Description

Classic British Folk and just a small part of a recently acquired collection from two other stalwarts of the genre, Phil & Phillipa (Pip) Lyons who performed at The Cambridge Folk Festival and gathered many autographs of their fellow performers.  (One of their own recordings is also up for grabs on one of my other listings, along with many more and some signed!!

Mike Absalom - Self-titled album (UK Vertigo 1971)

Triple gatefold - foldout poster sleeve with original Vertigo inner sleeve.

How many superlatives could be heaped upon this album?   One of the most collectable & sought-after Vertigo releases, with the vinyl in mint-minus condition.  (One spindle mark and absolute minimal feathering to vinyl)

The fold-out poster sleeve shows some sign of wear, as pictured, however the autograph (in pink) more than makes up for this!!

Also pictured is Phil & Pip Lyons, the revered recipients of this awesome, signed LP.  Their recorded contribution will be featured in a forth-coming listing (Residents' Night Out - Fo'C'Sle Records 1977), along with LP's by Bert Jansch, Planxty, James Taylor & Lo Jai.

All records graded using The Rare Record Price Guide system, however as a long-established seller I do offer a full refund if not satisfied (as one man's excellent could be another's very good plus and vice versa!)

Email me with any questions, buyer pays shipping and settlement within 7 days of auction end via UK chq/postal order or Paypal.

Special Delivery available at Royal Mail cost price.

Be sure to check my other listings, including Moondog, Mike Absalom & The Dransfields.

On 30-May-10 at 10:22:49 BST, seller added the following information:

Original Vertigo album NOT CD!! - with matrix number 6360 053 from 1971, swirl label and Vertigo swirl inner sleeve.  The vinyl really is in near mint condition, with no spindle marks at all and no feathering, paper scuffs or surface marks!

Tracks included:  Saga Of John The Bog / Don't Tell It On The Telephone / Let Me Give You Roses, Rose / Old Woman In The Moon / Saga Of Ernie Plugg's Bust / Saga Of Suzie Grapevine & Pusher Joe / Frightened Of The Dark / Gaza Striptease / It Must Be Spring / Saga Of Peaches Melba And The Hash Officer.

Very rare and with the vinyl in this condition - much sought after!   The sleeve is as can be seen in the photos with some wear to gatefold seam through storage but still in excellent minus condition.

This item must be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery, at cost price to the winner.

Best of luck!
