Yes this is a fact! This is the first hardcore record ever. This is History! This record along with the first Black Flag EP laid the (vinyl) foundation for LA hardcore. The incredibly opener ‘Out Of Vogue’ was till 1980 the fastest track that you can get. But to make it clear, it is not only good because it is fast! There is much more! The Band did had it’s own sound and style. Fast, raw, unpolished, … simply great. Even the slowest track ‘Situations’ is very intensive and could appeal to the 77 style only punk rock purists that never get into Hardcore. They were also the first orange county punk band to play in LA. Most people here in Europe did learn about the Middle Class for being on the classic compilation Tooth and Nail (upsetter records) along with the Controllers, the Flesh Eaters, UXA, Negative Trend and the Germs (GI)
The group came from From Santa Anna? Fullerton?. Joke Records was ran a guy name Billy Star who had a 45 "Lets Play Doctor" / "Pitfall" out in 1977. Mike Patton, the bass player, produced the legendary Adolescences LP on Frontier Records.
Funny fact is that the guitar player Mike Atta still runs a Furniture shop called Out Of Vogue in Fullerton. Say hello and check vintage modern deco 30's - 70's, Furniture, Guitars, Clothing, Housewares when you go there!
This record is rarely for sale, especial in a NEAR MINT condition!
