Description
Here's a really clean original Racoon/Warner Bros pressing of Michael Hurley and pals " Armchair Boogie" Racoon #6 or WS 1915. This is a white label promo marked "Promotion Not For Sale on both sides of the label. Cover grades a conservative VG+/Vinyl grades a VG++ to NM-. Large 8 page black & white comic is complete w/ no tears and grades a conservative VG+ or VG++.. Also has original period WB graphic inner sleeve. LP was cleaned on a VPI 16.5
Labels are visually unmarked w/o any spindle traces. Deadwax info as follows: Side 1 is WS-1915A 39871-1A Side 2 is W915-B 39872-1B Both sides have Artisan stamps in the deadwax.
Cover condition as follows: Cover is flat w/ sharp front graphic colors. There is no ring wear or rubbing to the front image. Spine is fully legible and intact. There is very minor corner bumping to the bottom left and top right corners. Back cover retains it sharp all black & white graphics w/ photo, also with no ring or rubbing. There is a small date written in pen in the upper right hand corner "7-17-71". There is also a very minor 1" seam split on the top edge of the cover. Bottom edge is fully intact and opening clean with no feathering or wear.
Vinyl condition both visually and sonically lives up to the grade. Very well made, extremely quiet pressing, that appears to have seen careful & little play by original owner. Very quiet sparse songs and arrangements that would be unforgiving to careless play. The a rather lo-fi production this recording has a "you are there" character. It's been in my collection since '85 and probably only played a couple times. LP will ship in a rice paper lined sleeve. You'd be hard pressed to find a quieter playing 1st pressing.
The comic book is sharp, very white w/ great back photo. Edges, spine, staples tight & clean. There is a very minor raised "bump/fold" mark on front cover near the top. Very close call between VG+ or VG++.
