Metallica – Ride The Lightning

Original 1984 U.S. Elektra/Megaforce Records LP, catalog number 60396-1.

Authentic first-era U.S. pressing featuring Specialty Records Corporation (SRC) stampers and MASTERDISK HW runouts mastered by legendary engineer Howie Weinberg.

Includes classic Metallica tracks:

Condition:

  • Original jacket with some edge wear, corner wear, and light creasing from age and storage. Spine is 90% solid. Edges are solid. Some small indentations on front of cover from someone writing. Difficult to see unless tilted toward bright light.

  • Original Elektra/Megaforce labels and outer sleeves.

  • Vinyl retains strong gloss with light surface marks consistent with a vintage used record. Some storage/removal wear and a few needle trails but nothing feel-able. Labels are very clean and bright; showing only minimal spindle trails. 

  • Includes inner sleeve (may not be original).

  • MASTERDISK HW = mastered by Howie Weinberg, who cut many of the original Metallica LPs.

  • SRC = pressed by Specialty Records Corporation, one of the desirable U.S. pressing plants of the era.

  • A-3 / B-3 stampers place it firmly in the original 1984 production run rather than a later reissue.

  • Original Elektra/Megaforce labels and catalog number 60396-1 match the matrices.

  • Pressing Plant ID (Sides A/B runouts): SRC
  • Pressing Plant ID (Side B center label, embossed): E A S T

  • Catalog number 60396-1 appears on back cover and labels. Catalog number 9 60396-1 appears on spine.

  • Please review all photos carefully for exact condition.
