Description

This is an obscure original LP from the USA of the Christian prog metal/rock band named Messiah. The LP is titled "Final Warning." This very hard to find LP was released in 1984 on a private label Viniculum.  The album is sealed.

This LP, "Final Warning," is one of the few Christian metal private albums listed in the Goldmine Heavy Metal Record Price Guide.

To quote from a record review: "The guitars have that 70's distortion sound. In fact, the whole album has that kind of "spacey" progressive 70's metal sound."

To quote from an interview with Chuck Gugel of Messiah back in 1987: "I formed a show band back in 1975 and we dressed up like Alice Cooper and Kiss... Messiah is a concept band that was formed by me for the purpose of bringing our message to the world through the power of rock n' roll. I wanted to become closer to God and alert today's generation to the Book of Revelations, the coming of the Antichrist. Our band has been influenced by anywhere from Elvis to Ozzy Osborne.  Also Pink Floyd and Ritchi Blackmore and Dio."

Please note:  I'm looking for information on early Christian bands.  If you are a musician who played in a "Christian" band in the 70's or early 80's, please email me at Tinmancafe@aol.com   I'd like to find out where your band played ( churches, bars, clubs ); what style of music your band played; did your band record an LP or tape, etc.

I like progressive rock, moody art-rock, blues-rock and some folk-rock.   Similar to the styles of  YES, ELP, Proto-Kaw, Kerry Livgren, Kansas, Glass Harp ( with Phil Keaggy ), Jimmy Hotz ( his great "Beyond the Crystal Sea LP ! ), Oden Fong ( "Come for the Children" LP ), Moody Blues, Jeff Johnson, Semaja ( Christian progressive band from Germany ! ) etc.   I'm sure there are more Christian bands who play progressive or psych or blues rock.  If you know of any Christian bands who play ( or did play ) in any of these styles, please email me.

My email address is Tinmancafe@aol.com
