INFO : A superb example of Aussie icons Men At Work’s first ever recording and issued on their own independent D.I.Y. label with only 300 copies ever pressed.
It is said that the group shopped this single around in Sydney and Melbourne indie stores with the remainder sold at gigs, this copy is more likely to be the latter and without doubt is unique piece of Oz rock history
Upon eventually hearing these tunes Columbia executives signed the band to their CBS label setting the wheels in motion for a remarkable and successful career.
This early version of "Down Under" has a slightly slower tempo and different arrangement from the later world-wide #1 hit in 1982/83.
Both tracks here were penned by the bands’ co-founders Colin Hay and Ron Strykert and this super clean copy is an extremely rare find for collectors.
CONDITION: Note : All records (except where Mint) have been vacuum-machine cleaned and fully played on a quality system to determine an accurate grading.
This item will be safely packed and includes a new outer plastic cover.
· Vinyl : Brilliant and just about the best copy you will ever see. Played a few times at the most as reflected in the perfect audio quality on both sides. Visually it is difficult to fault and the overall rating is just shy of Near Mint, say a very strong EX+ to be conservative.
