COMMENTS ON THE ALBUM

Here we have an absolute MONSTER of an album, this is the ULTRA RARE original UK FIRST PRESSING of Meic Stevens classic acid folk album Outlander. What a truly amazing album this is and is now virtually impossible to find these days, especially in this condition!

The cover of this album is amazingly fragile and are normally - when the album turns up for sale - less than perfect condition or trashed. However, this one is not! I shall try my best to describe the condition of the cover below.

THE FRONT:

The front of the cover is in truly remarkable shape with virtually no imperfections. Very close scrutiny reveals the tiniest (and I mean tiniest) storage wear where the album has left a very light impression upon the sleeve which by no means could be called ringwear as there is no loss of colour. There are NO sticker tears and NO writing anywhere on the cover. A few microscopic white spots to the cover which are virtually unnoticeable unless viewed very closely.

THE BACK:

As the front, again NO WRITING and NO tears and very sharp observation reveals less imperfections than the front.

THE EDGES:

Edges are super clean with virtually NO scuffing.

THE SPINE:

Again super clean with virtually NO scuffing. The writing is perfectly clear with every letter legible.

The record itself has very minor imperfections which generally do not impair the sound quality. Below is a brief description of the vinyl.

SIDE 1:

Very feint hairlines visible under bright light, nothing to cause any drastic problems. Its basically really only the paperscuff variety which apart from these very minor cosmetic blemishes the vinyl looks very clean indeed and still retains its original bright shine!

SIDE 2:

As Side 1

THE LABELS:

The labels are in lovely condition with NO unwanted writing or pen marks. NO tears or scuffs or discolouring. Very close scrutiny reveals the lightest of spindlewear that shows the album has not been overplayed in the past. Wording is sharp and distinct on both labels.

MATRIX NUMBERS

Side 1)  WS 3005A-1 *T  stampers F1

Side 2) WS 3005B-3 *T   stampers D1

And finally the album comes with its original lyric insert.

THE INSERT:

Printed on both sides, the lyric insert is in truly MINT CONDITION with no writing, tears, creasing or pinholes.

FINAL SUMMARY

Overall, this is a superb album and a MUST for any collectors of fine folk rock and psychedelia. Truly a great example of a very rare and collectable album.

Grading is a very subjectional topic but I would be happy to grade the album as follows:
