Meade Lux Lewis

"Yancey's Last Ride" LP

This is an original copy of Meade Lux Lewis' 1954 tribute to his mentor, Jimmy Yancey, released on Down Home Records (MGD 7). The cover states it is "A Panoramic True HI-FI Recording," while the label designates it as "long playing microgroove." Features six great piano blues/boogie-woogie songs all written by Yancey. Also features a great 50's-style line drawing by David Stone Martin on the front cover. While the cover has some splitting/fraying along the spines and some scuffing along the top and bottom, the front remains remarkably bright and clean and looks great as a display. The label on the record also features some great of-the-era design.

CONDITION -
Jacket: Good; split in spine in top right corner, left spine split/frayed, some scuffing/wear along top and bottom edges on front, stain along right edge on back with general wear on back cover. Even with the wear, the front cover remains remarkably sturdy, bright and clean.
Vinyl: G- with a lot of surface scratches; plays with persistent crackle TRACKS - SPOONEY SAM, MAMA'S BOUNCE, SHOOBOODY, HANGOVER BOOGIE, YANCEY'S LAST RIDE, BUSH STREET BOOGIE
