McCoy Tyner on Blue Note 84264 Test Pressing
This is the original Van Gelder-stamped stereo test pressing for McCoy Tyner “The Real McCoy” on Blue Note BST 84264. The playing surface is in near-new condition, with a high luster; perhaps unplayed. No art cover, as issued, but with the original annotated inner sleeve. The recording session was held on April 21, 1967 and this test pressing is dated on the label as June 8, 1967. Also, this was the period when Blue Note had been sold to Liberty Records. Although Van Gelder had earlier done the mastering, the pressing plant had changed from Plastylite to All Disc.
