Description
Hard-to-find original 1998 U.S. pressing of Maxwell’s Embrya on Columbia Records. Catalog number C2 68968. This is the original 2LP release housed in the distinctive illustrated tri-fold sleeve — not a later reissue.
An increasingly difficult album to find as an original vinyl pressing, especially complete with both records and the tri-fold packaging.
Condition: Sleeve VG / Vinyl VG+
Vinyl: VG+
Both records retain very nice gloss with some light superficial marks/hairlines from normal handling and use. There is a longer visible superficial mark on one side, shown clearly in the photos.
Both LPs have been play tested throughout. There is some surface noise and crackling during the lead-in at the beginning of each side, along with light surface noise between some songs and occasional crackles during playback. Once the music gets going, it sounds really nice and is a very enjoyable listen overall. No skips.
As a personal aside, this isn’t normally my type of music, but I was genuinely impressed by how good this album sounds — a great listen.
Sleeve: VG
The elaborate tri-fold sleeve remains complete and displays nicely overall, particularly across the large front, back and interior artwork. There is noticeable age/storage wear including edge and corner wear, rubbing, creasing and heavier wear along portions of the spine/edges. Please see the detailed photos, which show the condition closely.
Includes the two white paper inner sleeves (not shown).
