********************************* An absolute stone-cold MINT copy of this only album from US singer-songwriter Maury Muehleisen.

By the age of seventeen (1967) Muehleisen was playing folk tunes in New Jersey coffeehouses, during which time he befriended another up-and-coming singer-songwriter/folk artist, Jim Croce. In 1970 he had signed with Capitol Records and released ‘Gingerbread’ … a folky-rock-psych effort that sadly failed to gain any attention and slipped between the cracks despite featuring the talents of Davig Bromberg and Eric Weissberg.

Croce and Muehleisen continued to play together forming a guitar alliance that quickly proved to be both exquisite and top-shelf. Jim’s run of subsequent successful albums and endearing songs such as ‘You Don't Mess Around with Jim’ ; ‘I Got a Name’ ; ‘Photographs and Memories’ ; ‘Operator (That's Not the Way it Feels)’ ; ‘Time in a Bottle’ and’ Bad, Bad Leroy Brown’ all feature Muehleisen on lead acoustic and the future for both Jim and Maury looked very solid until a plane crash on September 20, 1973 (after a show in Natchitoches, LA) cut both men's careers tragically short.

This album, which features wonderful graphics, gives a brief insight to the genius of Maury who was undoubtedly a gifted performer taken well before his time.
