Matching Mole
Little Red record
S65260 Original release 1972 Stereo
Robert Fripp R. Wyatt
A1/B1 Impossible to locate in this remarkable condition!
Music is fascinating and an indefinable sound of the space age.
Matching Mole formed late 1971 and was the first shoot off soft Machine. R Wyatt, drummer and former nucleus of the Softs, departed to form Matching Mole. In spite of his deep respect for the Softs, Robert thought the band was too private, “too much organisation” !!
Sleeve printed Shorewood Packaging. Slight wear mid top edge otherwise near perfect Ex+++ condition. No creasing or discoloration Best example of this very fragile, unlaminated single sleeve. Ultra clean and fresh appearance.
Orange CBS first issue label format.Hardly a spindle trace. Nr mint minus owing to hand written name on one side. Beautiful examples of a rare first issue. No mottling, peeling. No rips or tears.
Red inner sleeve also present with this edition. Excellent condition.I am not sure but it may not be THE original. Just plain red!
Audio
Opens with near silent grooves and warrants an excellent grading. Best example of this highly collectable album. Near silent channels throughout from my Probe / Cambridge audio system.. Grooves convey the synthesiser and electric piano in sensational style!
Will be hard pressed to locate a better example of this significant piece of vinyl history.
