Description

Mark Murphy –
THAT’S HOW I LOVE THE BLUES –
Riverside 9441 (SMJ) –
Twin-Reels Label

This 1963 session features jazz singer Mark Murphy with a host of notables in the back-drop, including Clark Terry, Snooky Young, Dick Hyman, Roger Kellaway, Jim Hall, and Ben Tucker, all of the charts arranged and conducted by Al Cohn.

Great selections are GOING TO CHICAGO, SENOR BLUES, JELLY JELLY BLUES, EVERYBODY’S CRAZY ‘BOUT THE DOGGONE BLUES, WEE BABY BLUES, and THAT’S HOW I LOVE THE BLUES, among others.

A terrific edition: Cover crisp, without fault (here shown in a plastic outer storage jacket free with each purchase). Record within is a “twin-reels” label platter in near-mint shape.

For other fine records, TAS picks and hard-to-finds, please see my complete list of offerings here on eBay.

Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States. Internationally, $15 via airmail for the first LP, $3 each thereafter. (Canada is half that.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $6, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
