Description

"Prismes," by Marcel-Henri Faivre, privately released on Fidsound in France in the early 70's. Brilliant album by French composer Marcel-Henri Faivre, and as-yet-unrediscovered album of electronic experiments and post-Classical themes. The A-side is devoted to minimal electronics of the most delicate and otherworldly tonalities, with a slight Baroque sound at times - it is extremely reminiscent of the kind of sound experiments on Italian libraries by Paolo Renosto, Egisto Macchi, Piero Umiliani, Oscar Rocchi, and others. The B-side is devoted to two suites of chamber music, both of them haunting, spectral, introspective mood pieces formed from cello, flute and clarinet. An outstanding record, and though I don't think it's a library, both the music and the cover art almost classify it as one. Highest recommendation on this very rare record - honestly, this is fantastic and if someone like Pastafrolla were selling this the hype would be through the roof. Vinyl in VG++ condition with some static. Cover fine save for very mild ringwear and rubbing. Please note that my scanner cannot capture the entire breadth and width of the record cover.
