Description
"Prismes," by Marcel-Henri Faivre, privately released on Fidsound in France in the early 70's. Brilliant album by French composer Marcel-Henri Faivre, and as-yet-unrediscovered album of electronic experiments and post-Classical themes. The A-side is devoted to minimal electronics of the most delicate and otherworldly tonalities, with a slight Baroque sound at times - it is extremely reminiscent of the kind of sound experiments on Italian libraries by Paolo Renosto, Egisto Macchi, Piero Umiliani, Oscar Rocchi, and others. The B-side is devoted to two suites of chamber music, both of them haunting, spectral, introspective mood pieces formed from cello, flute and clarinet. An outstanding record, and though I don't think it's a library, both the music and the cover art almost classify it as one. Highest recommendation on this very rare record - honestly, this is fantastic and if someone like Pastafrolla were selling this the hype would be through the roof. Vinyl in excellent condition save for light surface noise here and there, nothing major. Cover fine save for very mild ringwear and rubbing. Please note that my scanner cannot capture the entire breadth and width of the record cover.
