Manic Street Preachers 'New Art Riot' / 'Repeat After Me' (Caff) CAFF 15 Rare: 'Feminine is Beautiful' single. Raw, impassioned recordings from 1989, issued in 1991 on Bob Stanley's (St. Etienne) collectable Caff imprint. Original wraparound folded sleeve, original Caff insert which reads: "Xmas 1989. Blackwood, South Wales. Four lads with a love of mascara and a worn out video of "rude boy", pool their giros to record a demo. Picture them walking into the studio: James with a look on his face that screams out "smash the system", drummer Sean just 14, Richey with his beautiful brown eyes, and Nick with a chick on each arm and bits of pizza down the front of his shirt. They are revolution flowers. They're in the studio 40 minutes - it's all they can afford. They record two songs, no time for overdubs. They sound fucking great. Here they are.
