Manfred Mann Chapter Three 1969 LP Aust Fontana

Original Australian pressing in gatefold sleeve on Fontana Records, who had been releasing Mann’s previous band’s material – later releases were on Vertigo, as this was everywhere else.

Manfred Mann Chapter Three was a British experimental jazz rock band founded by South African keyboard player Manfred Mann. The lineup for its debut, at Newcastle's Mayfair Ballroom on October 24, 1969, consisted of Mann (organ), Mike Hugg (electric piano), Clive Stevens (tenor sax), Bernie Living (alto sax), Steve York (bass), Gerald Drewett (trombone), Craig Collinge (drums), Carl Griffiths (tenor sax), Dave Coxhill (baritone sax) and Sonny Corbett (trumpet). The band was short-lived and disbanded after two albums. Mann went on to form Manfred Mann's Earth Band in 1971.

Manfred Mann Chapter Three is the debut album released in 1969 by Manfred Mann Chapter Three.

It was the third album to be released on the Vertigo record label. The principal members of the group were Manfred Mann and Mike Hugg. Mann played the organ and acted as the group's musical arranger, whilst Hugg handled vocals, played piano and was the chief song writer.
