Malcolm Young’s Official BPI Award

This is Malcolm Young’s BPI British music industry Silver Disc Award from 1983 for 60,000 sales of AC/DC’s album, ‘Flick of the Switch’. This award is in an aluminium frame measuring 16x20 inches (41x51cms) and is in very good condition. There are some minor scratches on the frame, however, these aren’t noticeable once it’s hanging on the wall. The plaque mounted below the record includes the BPI logo and the following text:

BPI (British Phonographic Industry) awards are the British equivalent of American RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) awards, and are only presented to artists, producers, record companies and others in the music industry that contributed to the success of a record. This is an official music industry award and should not be confused with any kind of replica or ‘limited edition’ discs that are sold direct to the public.

Genuine AC/DC awards are rare. Even rarer are awards actually presented to a band member, so this is a great opportunity to own an incredible piece of AC/DC memorabilia.

Shipping Info

The item can be collected in person, or shipped for £20 (including full insurance) within the UK. Other destinations will be charged at cost (probably £40-£90 because of the cost of insuring such a high value item) so please ask for an estimate.

Payment Info

Preferred payment is by cheque or bankers draft in UK Pounds. Paypal will also be accepted, however, if you have an unconfirmed address, then you will need to contact me before placing your bid. Cash can also be accepted, but only if the item is personally collected.

Payment should be received within 10 days of the auction end. The item will then be shipped within 5 days of receiving payment.
