Up for grabs is this long deleted and now extremely hard to find vinyl album by Mac Murrough (formerly called Shades Of MacMurrough). Entitled Merry & Fine, this is their third and final LP and is an original Irish-only issue. As was also the case with their second album, reputedly only 500 copies were pressed. Shades Of MacMurrough were a trio from Fern, County Wexford consisting of Paul Kavanagh and sisters, Josephine and Mary O’Neill. By the time of this LP they had shortened their name to Mac Murrough and were down to a duo of Kavanagh and Mary Kavanagh (O'Neill), who were now married. On the Polydor label, the catalogue number is 2908 030 and the date of issue is 1977.

Condition

The vinyl is in Excellent Minus condition, having just one slight surface mark on Side 2 which is not audible.

The labels are in Excellent condition, clean and bright with clear, perfect printing and only a few spindle marks.

The cover is in Very Good Minus condition. As with most Irish pressings, it is slightly thinner card than UK issues and does have some edge and corner wear and also light ring wear. The spine has the usual 1970s Polydor pinched top and bottom design and is complete with clear printing but some wear (see pics). There is a tiny surface scuff on the back cover, just below the bottom horizontal line on the left hand side (see pic).

All my vinyl records are strictly graded according to Record Collector magazine's grading system. Please check my GRADING GUIDE to see a description of each grade. If any item has any writing, stickers, sticker marks, tears etc these will always be mentioned along with the grading. All records are sent in custom-made mailers, with stiffeners, and are packaged outside their sleeves to prevent edge splits.
