This is a 159-page, first printing hard-cover book titled "Music by Computers" edited by Heinz von Foerster and James W. Beauchamp and published by John Wiley & Sons in 1969.  By the details noted in the Preface, this book came about from a "call for papers" for submission for the "1966 Fall Joint Computer Conference" in San Francisco and the contents of this book come from these papers and make up the 10 "chapters".  Also included in this book, located in a pouch inside the back cover, are 4 double-sided, 7" flexidiscs featuring 20 track/songs created/composed by the authors of the papers/chapters included in this book.  As you'll hear, I've included short clips from the 8-sides of the 4 flexidiscs.

Overall, this is a RARE and very COOL combination of a book and flexidiscs explaining of the creation of vintage electronic/computer music and providing amazing examples!!!  Please see the photos below to view the papers/chapters/authors and musical pieces included in this book and flexidiscs.  Overall, the book, dust jacket and flexidiscs are in really nice condition.

With a quick check through this book, I didn’t see any pen or pencil markings on the pages or dogeared corners, in fact, this book appears to have been read carefully if at all and is in very good plus - excellent condition with very light storage wear to the cover (which is a gorgeous blue), a few light handling marks to the interior pages, light aging, light bends at the top and bottom of the spine, and tiny spots of light wear showing as white to the corner points.  The dust jacket is in very good condition with noticeable aging/darkening/scuffing to the front and back coverings and to the title spine covering, and small dings/tears/chipping/creases to the top and bottom edges.  The 4 flexidiscs are in very good plus - excellent condition and come in a blank white generic sleeve that slips inside the back cover pouch.  This is a RARE & COOL Electronic Music collectible, make sure you bid on this today!!!
