Description
What I’m offering is a VERY RARE random private-pressing rap 12” single by Mr. Magic, titled Rappin’ With Mr. Magic (long/ short), issued on Magic Records in 1981 out of Hamden, Connecticut. It’s possible that this is the first rap record. I’m not sure how many copies of this 12” single were pressed, but it’s ridiculously rare…and much in demand.
The record is in solid NM/ MINT condition with NO scuffs, scratches or spindle marks. The cover, which is a generic white cover, is still in its shrinkwrap and has a VERY RARE sticker on it that says “ RAPPIN’ by Mr. Magic “. The sticker has a water stain on it (see scan) but have you ever seen one? This record is hard to find in and of itself, never mind still in the shrinkwrap with the sticker.
An added bonus, this record contains the long 9 minute version, which is not found on the rare 45, only on the 12” single.
This 12” single was purchased from a Connecticut one-stop employee’s collection. This record has only been played twice, once by the previous owner and once by me. You will NOT find a better condition copy of this 12” single. It may be a while before another copy of this rare record comes up for sale again.
