Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire. STILL IN ORIGINAL FACTORY CELLOPHANE

- Mott The Hoople

- MINT 46 YEARS AGO ORIGINAL ; STILL IN FACTORY CELLOPHANE
- By 1974, Mott the Hoople was quite possibly the greatest concert band in the world, a blur of high-energy rock, high content poetics, and high camp costuming -- Ian Hunter the tough guy in leather and shades; Ariel Bender the street kid, all satin hat flash; Overend Watts, the freakoid in skyscraper thigh boots; and a live show which out-dressed the lot of them. If any band deserved a live album, it was Mott. Two shows recorded five months and two continents apart (London's Hammersmith Odeon in December 1973; New York's Uris Theater in May 1974) are highlighted by just seven songs and one medley. The hits "All the Young Dudes" and "All the Way From Memphis," of course, are present.
- And the bottom line: this is a truly breathtaking set. Absolutely superb. The power and muscle of Mott in their prime, a prime that did not last very long. We seriously doubt to have ever heard anything sonically superior to this recording. The stars and the planets (in particular, Jupiter, of course) all lined up for this recording. Nothing is missing here, nothing is muddy; you can hear it all. Everything is clean and clear, including Morgan Fisher's keys, which gave Mott such a classy edge. The band's performances are outstanding, and the sonic perfection of this recording could not be finer. Much of this high quality is conveyed through an extremely solid and muscular bottom-end punch from the drums and bass guitar, with no `boominess' at all. The recording engineers - all of them - should be commended for this superior result. If you have a good playback system, this thing will jump right out of your speakers and into your lap, knock the wind out of you, and leave you gasping for more. No other live recording of prime Mott could be any better. Start here. End here. The London show was the night when the management tried to halt the gig during the closing number, and wound up causing a riot. The liner notes remember it well. It is a great album in its own way, the band are in terrific form, and Bender plays the guitar hero better than anyone else of his entire generation.
