Description

MOSAIC MQ7-151  THAD JONES-MEL LEWIS ORCHESTRA  The Complete Solid State

A long-deleted 7LP box set, covering the first recordings made by this exciting big band 1966-70. All the instrumental tracks are included but not the material from the two albums backing up singers (Ruth Brown/Joe Williams). As usual Mosaic have also unearthed a few previously unissued performances. This has the usual luxury booklet with high-definition photographs, full track listings and discographical details. DESCRIPTION/CONDITION : The discs are E+toN- (VG++toM-), with some very light scuffs/superficial marks, only visible under a bright 'grading' light. The box is also E+ (VG++), with some slight surface rubbing/scratching and minor corner damage. There are no seam splits.
