MOSAIC MQ10-176: The Complete Capitol & Atlantic Recordings Of Jimmy Giuffre. Here is your chance to buy this deleted 10 LP box set containing all the music recorded by this modern jazz saxophone and clarinet player at sessions made for these well-known labels 1954-58. The music here was originally issued on 11 LPs. The first two, recorded by Capitol, present Giuffre mainly in a small group setting with trumpeter, JACK SHELDON, as the other main soloist. The Atlantic sessions present him in a variety of settings including an early larger band date designed to showcase his clarinet playing, a guest appearance with the MJQ, as well as the more familiar trio discs with JIM HALL and later, BOB BROOKMEYER. The sturdy presentation box also includes a beautifully produced booklet containing stunning photographs, detailed notes on the sessions as well as a full discography. The condition of both the discs and the box is 'as new', apart from some slight damage to the top and the spine of the box.
