Description

Up for grabs are hard to find copies of the classic Morning of the Earth surf soundtrack lp and 7" single. MOTE is one of the greatest surf movies of all time, featuring the surfing of Nat Young, Michael Peterson, Terry Fitzgerald, and David Treloar among others. The accompanying soundtrack, which is a collection of prog/psych/rock/folk tracks, is one the best Aussie albums of the 70's and features songs from Tamam Shud, G Wayne Thomas, Brian Cadd, John J Francis, Peter Howe and Terry Hannagan.
The gatefold cover is in (Very Good) condition. Light rubbing, some spots on cover, light ringwear, minimal corner wear. No writing, stickers/tape/reside, splits, tears or heavy creases. All in all, a nice presentable cover.
Visually, the vinyl is (Very Good). Clean and glossy, with some light marks. Unfortunately, the record doesn't play as good as it looks, with varying levels of background noise and some hissing on some of the higher notes. I'm guessing its been played with a blunt stylus at some point. Given this, i'll downgrade condition to (G+)....still a good playing copy though, especially if you already have a mint copy. Or a great display copy!
Labels are both VG+, with only a few light spindle marks on each side.
Also included is the even rarer single by G Wayne Thomas, featuring the title track on the A side and "Open up your heart" on the flip side. Unfortunately, it has a ripple on the outer edge that makes the first 3rd of both tracks unplayable. I'm sure you could flatten it out to make it playable, but i'll let the winning bidder chose if/how they want to do it (check out youtube on how to fix warped records).
If it weren't for the warp it rate it as (Very Good minus), but in its current state can only rate it at (OK/Partially playable). Labels are both (Very Good), with neat names in blue pen on both sides, otherwise clean. Warner Bros plastic sleeve is good shape.
Both of these records would make a great display piece...they would look awesome framed together!
Can be picked up from Mt Martha, Vic, or will send in a cardboard record mailer and padded bag for $10.50 flat rate. Additional for registered/insured post. Thanks for looking, good luck!
