Moonkyte: "Count Me Out" 1971, UK/Mother SMOT1
WOW, what a great record we have here: Moonkyte's sole album "Count Me Out" on the obscure Mother Label. A real stunner and a MEGA RARE find these days.
The Disc is looking fine with only a few very faint hairlines, graded EX! Cover is in beautiful shape in the troublesome die-cut, no damage at all! The colour on the bottom seam is a bit yellowed, and there's a little wear to the edges. Very neat and small writing on the back with a ballpen. "Tesco Stores Southhampton, Okt. 28th 1972" and a small price tag on the back in the right lower corner. Gets a strong VG+ overall. Has the printed inner sleeve wich unfortunately has some writing too: "25p Mother". Nothing really bad, but an important thing to mention of course. This is certainly one of the most fragile of all the UK psych era covers... and here's a fantastic example! This is the super rare British ORIGINAL and not some reissue or counterfeit pressing. This record is close to impossible to find at all and even rarer to stuble over a top copy without the usual "issues": Finding an unmolested UK Moonkyte is close to impossible and this copy here is a standout example. The only flaw is the writing on the back of the sleeve and the innersleeve which I mentionend before.
Moonkyte had a truly "lost" feel, they were into their own thing completely... "Blues For Boadicea", "The Way Out Hermit", the haunting "Jelly Man" has been comped; this album is so druggy I get a contact high just from playing it. Some LPs are like doors into time gone by, this is one of those...
