Plays VG++ to EXCELLENT
ACCORDING TO POPSIKE, HAS SOLD FOR UP TO 114 POUNDS IN 2009 (THAT'S A LOTTA WEIGHT!)
Prolific as they were (11 singles between 1965 and 1970), the Montanas were nevertheless a class act. And by 1967, their singles were all pretty much freakbeat popsike gems. “Roundabout,” from 1969, is one of the more obscure ones, but it’s heavy-ish Chocolate Soup/Rubble sound is pure perfection, a dizzying mix of the Move and the Idle Race. “Mystery” is poppier, a great blue-eyed Northern soul number with lotsa harmonies and some groovy Latin horns. Besides, any band with a bass player nicknamed “Sludge” is gonna be a GREAT band in my book.
