Rare afro-rock from Nigerian's 'Soul brother number one'. This is a brillaint second album by Joni Haastrup’s band MonoMono from 1974. This super funky african band took on the bluesrock grooves of Santana and Hugh Masekela but with their own unique Yoruban flavour. Recommended!

This is one of the best afrobeat albums I've heard EVER! The incredible, deep atmosphere is stunning and way different from high-life/funk albums of Fela Kuti or guitar driven afro-rock like Blo or Ofege. Fantastic compositions are backed with raw sound of early '70s, rich percussion background, beautiful electric piano and guitar themes and solos and last but not least - the vocals: deep, natural and narcotic. Listen to fantastic "Tire Loma Da Nigbehin" and "Awareness Is Wot You Need" - you'll get this in a second!

(c)           Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!
