RARE original 1967 first pressing of the STEREO issue psychedeli Hollies gem, this listing includes the ULTRA RARE White label promo MONO original...a 2-LOT of rarities (see details below song titles)
The stereo issue contains speaker to speaker effects (good for this psychedelic album)
The MONO version adds different song mixes from the stereo and includes a bold sound punch in the production which is much different from the stereo release....
Like its predecessor, For Certain Because, this album features only songs written by group members Allan Clarke, Graham Nash and Tony Hicks. None of the songs on the album were selected for single or EP release in the UK. HOWEVER, this US pressing contains different track listings from the UK issue and includes the US smash hit 'Carrie Anne' wich is not included on the British issue....The album cover artwork was created by The Fool, with the psychedelic cover photo by Karl Ferris, who is credited with creating the first truly psychedelic photograph for an album cover.
"EVOLUTION" must be one of the most consistent Hollies albums... The highlights are some of the best tunes of UK sixties psychedelic and easily stand comparison with "Revolver" "Rubber Soul" era Beatles. On these songs the guitars are distorted, the harmonies tight and the Hollies sound cool and creative. The Hollies chose inject unusual instruments (flute, banjo, dulcimer) to accompany the beautifil melodies.
"Revolution" delivers the crème de la crème of British sixties music with stand out tracks: Have You Ever Loved Somebody, When Your Lights Turned On, Leave Me

CONDITION: The cover is sharp in colors, solid seams, no bends, no writing and just a very small shelf wear that was starting, but minor and should not bother most = VG++ collectible
The vinyl is all glossy on both sides, VG++ having a few very minor inner sleeve type non-audible soft scuffs so it plays really excellent....
Condition for copy #2 ((1967 MONO W L PROMO):
The MONO white label promo cover is different from the stereo issue, being slightly raised higher (check picture), otherwise clean and solid VG++ with no problems...
The MONO vinyl with white promo labels is well played VG, having numerous light scuffs...very rare as a white promo label, for sure....
