Description

16 year old ALICE JEAN
& The Mondellos

Ever heard of Alice Jean Wilton? You will know about her now. Here she is at 16 years old, singing with the Mondellos on this single from Rhythm Records from December of 1957. Alice was school kid from Pittsburgh who was brought in to add something new to the group, and what emerged was a really great sound.

The group cut three singles with her and this was the third of them. Tracks here are “Hard To Please” and “Happiness Street.”

By the time this had come out the group had not only suffered a personal loss in an accident, but their confidence was shaken with their manager. A typical story, the Mondellos were soon history and Alice Jean Wilton would in time get inducted into the Pittsburgh Arts Hall of Fame.
