MOD MEETING - RICHARD KENT STYLE V ST. LOUIS UNION - NEW
LP MINT & UNPLAYED
This is actually like a split LP between The Richard Kent Style and The St. Louis Union, with one whole side dedicated to each band. Each side contains 8 tracks, comprised of the band's singles. The R.K. style actually released 5 singles, so their fourth release, on MCA records, was omitted, perhaps because permission could not be obtained. With the exception of this band's final single, which was released in 1969, all tracks were recorded in 1966. Both bands have a very similar sound and style, performing material featuring elements of pop, soul, mod, beat, and r&b. Overall, slightly more than half of the cuts presented rate pretty good or better by my standards, with a couple clocking in with a solid "good", and the alt. vers. of "English Tea" is very good.
